James is an experienced security analyst and defence industry consultant with a background in Middle-Eastern, Islamic Studies & Theology at the University of Cambridge. His roles have given him practical in-country experience in the Middle East and Central, West and sub-Saharan Africa as well as desk based research and situation analysis in the UK. He has a deep understanding of the defence and security industries and emerging technology trends.
He has spent time working with Deloitte LLP assigned to their CF Forensics and Dispute Services and with Ashurst LLP Compliance division as well as on advisory and consultancy projects in Central and West Africa where he operated at a Ministerial and Presidential level.
More recently he has moved into the defence and security events space, developing a portfolio of future–looking event concepts at two leading global events companies. His work has exposed him to a range of industry areas, leading large international teams to deliver complex projects.
